Fintrac Inc is an international agribusiness firm, based in the US, which implements development projects worldwide. We innovate and introduce market-led, productivity-enhancing, eco-friendly and sustainable technologies, practices and crops for income generation and food security. We are looking for qualified staff with expertise and experience in the following areas for new projects starting up in Africa over the next few years

Applicants should be qualified at least to degree level in agriculture, agricultural economics or engineering, with well-developed practical skills which can be applied to development projects. Potential candidates with at least ten years relevant work experience are invited to apply.

Agronomists - Maize and other Food Crops

Maize production in East Africa must be improved to a level which guarantees food security for both urban and rural populations. This can only be achieved by rapid introduction of efficient, modern technologies by both small and large scale farmers. Fintrac agronomists must have the expertise to advise all types of grower but with specialist skills in technology transfer to smallholder grain producing groups. Applicants with knowledge of other cereals, root crops and pulses will also be considered

Postharvest Specialists - Cereals

Post-harvest losses remain high throughout Africa despite the availability of cost-effective storage and handling techniques. Fintrac is well-known for its specialist expertise in post-harvest management of perishable crops. We are looking for permanent
staff who can bring a high level of expertise in the storage of cereals. Practical knowledge is required, in the areas of on-farm and off-farm post-harvest handling systems, including transport, storage, warehousing (and warehouse receipts).

Irrigation and Water Management Specialists

Fintrac has pioneered the use of small-scale irrigation by smallholder producers. We have assisted many thousands of small-scale growers to increase their incomes and achieve food security through adoption of efficient water management systems. Additional consultants are needed to meet increasing demand for these services. Applicants should be graduates in agriculture or engineering with specialised training and practical experience in irrigation and water management for smallholder producers.
